Bob The Builder is one of the most consistently popular pre-school TV series in the UK.  Bob is a jobbing builder assisted by the inspirationally multitasking Wendy and his team of machines – Scoop, Muck, Dizzy, Roley and Lofty.  Bob has a cat called Pilchard. 

He works in the town of Bobsville which was built by his father, also called Bob, and in the town he has a number of regular customers; Farmer Pickles, Mr Bentley who works for the local council, Mr Sabatini owner of the local Pizzeria and Mrs Potts.  Bob also often has to contend with Farmer Pickles’ scarecrow Spud, a mischievous and permanently hungry creature.

Bob himself is voiced by Neil Morrissey, Wendy and Dizzy by Kate Harbour and Spud and most of the machines by Rob Rackstraw, with these three taking other parts as necessary. 

More recently Bob the Builder has taken on a massive project; like his father he is to build a town.  His Big Project is to build an environmentally friendly town in Sunflower Valley.  To help him out, his father (voiced by Richard Briers) and mother (June Whitfield) take over his building business in Bobsville.  Bob has some extra machines to help him with his new project – Scrambler and Benny.
